Following a slump in form and having lost to Leesbrook already this season Belper had a point to prove, and despite Leesbrook visiting with a much changed team they were their usual determined selves, in a game in which they enjoyed plenty of possession but Belper had the edge when finishing off their chances.

Belper received the kick off with Dakin immediately crashing into contact taking defenders to ground, setting up the ruck with the ball being spread quickly to Booth who stepped through a gap to get tackled just short of the line, and this was the start of a display in which Man of the Match Booth controlled the back line well and his movement and quick thinking opened the Leesbrook's defence up on numerous occasions.

Belper were 20-5 up at half time with tries from Gray, Booth and Meakin, the pick of the tries coming when a Leesbrook scrum was turned over deep in the visitor's 22 following a quick strike from Holmes the ball was fed back to Naylor whos pass was slightly wayward missing Meakin, Booth was on hand to pick up and spin across the back of the scrum, dummy his opposite number and dart in right of the posts.

The second half saw the introduction of Inns who immediately put monster hits in on the Leesbrook attacking line, putting Belper back in control and with M Holmes supporting everywhere it was only a matter of time before he popped up to score following good ball retention from Dakin. The ball was taken to ground and England picked up, stepping past a defender moving the ball wide and Holmes powered past 2 defenders to score under the posts.

Belper scored again through Booth, Meaking and England, with Emslie converting 3 times and kicking a penalty giving Belper a boost in time for their next game away to Chesterfield next saturday
